President's Appreciation Award Nomination Letter
Chyenne is extremely smart and diligent in all his tasks. He really cares and understands the importance of how his job can affect the campus community. Chyenne is an integral part of the Electrical Shop. He has overseen many projects that are crucial to the infrastructure of electricity across BYU campus, such as the co-generation plant and high-voltage vault upgrades. Chyenne always puts the needs of the campus community to the forefront.
Chyenne is the very definition of competency. If he does not know the answer to a question, he will find out immediately. He is always looking for the safest and most efficient solution to any problem. Chyenne will always stand up for what is right.
I think most people don't know about what he does because our high voltage infrastructure is very solid and has little visible problems because of his care and upkeep. If there is ever an issue, he is very fast to fix it. For example, a car drove off the road and hit a pole on 900 East, cutting power to about half of campus, including the Marriott Center. This happened a couple of hours before a basketball game was about to start. Chyenne was able to re-route the power within an hour, so they did not have to cancel the game. This is just one example of the many, many examples of Chyenne’s competency, teamwork, and respect for campus and its resources.
