Ben E. Lewis Management Award

The Ben E. Lewis Management Award is presented to one full-time administrative employee with at least five years of service. This award recognizes individuals for their overall contribution and commitment to the mission and aims of the university
- $5,000 (after taxes),
- Award recognition by recipient's department and the Staff Advisory Council,
- Recognition during University Conference,
- An invitation to the President's Appreciation Banquet, and
- The recipient's name will be added to the Lewis award plaque in the ASB.

Ben E. Lewis (1913-2005), former executive vice president of BYU, was a capable administrator whose vision and fundraising skills enabled the university to expand. He secured funding for the Marriott Center arena, the indoor and outdoor tennis and racquetball courts, and the annex for the Smith Fieldhouse. He expanded the football stadium to 65,000 seats and provided lighting for all playing fields. He secured monies for further expansion of the university with the addition of the Smoot Administration Building, Harold B. Lee Library expansion, Wilkinson Student Center, and centralized buildings housing the physical plant operations.
