In the two years I have worked in the BYU Carpenter Shop, I have had the pleasure of working with Will Graham on a few occasions. Some of our jobs require the expertise of the Upholstery Shop, and Will has always been an asset when it comes to getting things done.
Every time I've approached Will in his shop, he drops everything he's doing to make me feel that I'm his number one concern. He promptly inquires about the project and how he can help us solve the problem, and then he takes action to assist us. This has happened on multiple occasions, as well as meeting us at a job site to assist with any work we need his help with.
Will's attitude exemplifies what I've striven to be to my peers in my own life. I truly feel privileged to work side-by-side with Will. He creates a positive work environment for all those he comes into contact with. Employees like Will are those you want to retain as their positive impact on other employees is immeasurable.
He is someone who truly cares about protecting and responsibly using the sacred resources of the Church that help fund the university. Recently, while meeting with Will, he showed us some of the work he was doing for a build at the Student Athlete Building (SAB). The result was a custom build of padded material used in the sports training rooms. He mentioned that the work was custom and sending the job to an outside vendor would be considerably more expensive for a far less-quality product. Will was ecstatic that he was able to save the university money by doing it himself, as well as having the product made and ready to use in a few days instead of waiting several weeks for an outside vendor.
Will’s incomparable trade skills, along with his focus on teamwork, benefit BYU as he is able to provide a superior product with superior customer service rivaled by few in the business. He truly is a craftsman.
